Who We Are

What We Believe

We began in 1991 when several individuals came together for a Bible study in the home of a local resident.

From our humble beginnings, God’s presence was with us. The times of fellowship grew in power and excitement, and today we can testify to God’s love and faithfulness to His people.

1. We Believe that There is Only One God: (Deuteronomy 6:4). We believe in the plurality of God expressed in three persons, The Father, The Son Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1 & 2, Genesis 1:26, 19:24, Isaiah 44:6, 1 Peter 1:2).  A oneness with the divine essence wholly in each person (John 3:16, John 16:7-15)

2. We Believe Jesus Christ is The Long Awaited Messiah: (Isaiah 53).  He fulfills and will fulfill all prophecies pertaining to the Messiah (Psalm 2, 16:10, Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6 & 7, Jeremiah 23:5 & 6, Daniel 7:13 & 14, Zechariah 12:10, Micah 5:2).  In Him the Law is fulfilled (Matthew 5:17).  We believe in His literal return, His second coming (Acts 1:9-11, Hebrews 9:28)

3. We Believe that The Bible is The Word of God: That the entire Bible, 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament, constitute the entire Bible. The Bible is infallible, inerrant, eternal and that every prophetic statement will come to pass (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1 Peter 1:24-25, 2 Peter 1:20-21).

4. We Believe Man was Created in the Image and Likeness of God: That God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed the breath of life into man (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:7).  We believe sin entered into the world by the fall of Adam and Eve, and because we are all descendants of Adam and Eve we all share that original sin nature (Genesis 3:1-19, Romans 6:23).

5. We Believe that Forgiveness of Sin Comes Only Through the Authority of Jesus Christ: (Mark 2:9,11, 1 John 1:9).  That Jesus Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law (Galatians 3:13).  His blood: redeemed us (Ephesians 1:7), allows us to enter The Holy Place (Hebrews 10:19), and enables us to overcome (Revelation 12:11).

6. We Believe in Jesus Christ’s Literal; Death on a Cross, Resurrection & Ascension: (Acts 2:22-31, Mark 16:19, Acts 1:9). That sinful man needs to repent and become born again (John 3:3-8, Luke 24:46-48, 2 Peter 3:9), mankind’s only hope for salvation is through Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12).  Man cannot earn his salvation it is an unmerited gift (grace) through faith in Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9)

7. We Believe in the Ongoing Process of Sanctification: (Becoming more conformed to Christ) working in every true born again believer (Romans 8:29, 1 Peter 1:1-3, 15, 16, 1 Thessalonians 5:21-24).

8. We Believe that There Will Be a Day of Judgment: (John 5:22-29). Punishment for those who reject Christ; separation forever from God and eternal torment in Hell (Mark 9:43-48, John 5:27-29, Revelation 20:11-15). The rewards for the believer, an inheritance (Matthew 25:34), eternally dwelling with Him (Revelation 21:3) and reigning with Him (Revelation 22:5).

9. We Believe in One Baptism for the Believer Expressed in Various Forms: (Ephesians 4:5).  A baptism of repentance (Matthew 3:1-6), water baptism (Matthew 28:19, Acts 8:36-37), a baptism into death (so that we may walk in “newness of life”) (Romans 6:3-5).  Of a continued and deeper baptism leading to the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38-39), and we believe in the need to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 4:31, Ephesians 5:18).

10. We Believe the Church is a Gathering of People, Called Out Ones, Who Have Received a Revelation From the Father Regarding the Son, Jesus Christ: (Matthew 16:16-18).  The wisdom of God is being made known through His Church (Ephesians 3:9-12). The true Church is not an organization or a denomination, but is His body, made up of individual believers of the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23, 1 Corinthians 12:27).

11. We Believe in the Restoration of Holiness and Power as Witnessed in the Early Church: (Acts 5:1-16).  Exemplified in the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4-11), and the five fold ministry (Ephesians 4:11-13), all being operational today and given sovereignly by the Holy Spirit. That apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers are needed in this end time church for the equipping, building and maturing of the saints. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ’s church is; holy, blameless, overcoming, victorious and is His bride (Ephesians 1:4, John 16:33, Revelation 19:7-9, 11-16

OUR VISION

A Church Where The Gospel of Jesus Christ Will Be  Proclaimed: The word church is the Greek word ekklesia: a calling out, an assembly or company of people that make up the local body of Christ. Resulting in; Salvation – Acts 4:12.  Freedom, Healing, and Restoration – Luke 4:18 & 19, Ephesians 1:22 & 23

Bringing Forth Spiritual Growth: Guided by the Holy Spirit each member of the church would be in an atmosphere conducive to growth. Coming into the revelation knowledge of who we are in Christ and our place in His church. Relating to God and relating to each other as a family in Christ. Ephesians 2:19-22

As A Result – Maturity: Responsibility comes with spiritual growth and maturity. God’s desire is to reveal to His body, the church, the specific plan and purpose for us both corporately and individually. As we mature to fully embrace and implement God’s perfect plan for all our lives. Ephesians 4:13, 2 Timothy 1:9

The Local Church – A Place of Training & Equipping: By His grace, we will have a part in training and equipping each desiring member to fulfill their specific calling the Lord would have for them. Hebrews 13:20 & 21

We believe that God has called our church to be a “city set on a hill”:  A place of restoration, as well as a place of training for those who desire the deeper things of God. Our goal is to teach, instruct, and train God’s people in all aspects of righteousness and Christian ministry.
Montrose Christian Fellowship has a dual calling: We are called to be a witness and testimony to our region and we are also called to the nations. Teaching and preaching and holding pastor/leadership conferences in various parts of the world.

We consider ourselves a church family, being knit together with one another, as we all grow in the Lord: We as a church need to be a source of help and encouragement to one another. Stand together with us, be a part of what God has for Montrose and its surroundings in this glorious hour.
It is our desire that Montrose Christian Fellowship may somehow serve and encourage you in your relationship with Jesus Christ: We look forward to the possibility of you calling Montrose Christian Fellowship “home”.

Montrose Christian Fellowship: Is a church established by God, according to His principles and in total conformity with the Bible, God’s holy inerrant word.

May God’s richest blessings be yours!
